Use Video Watermark when branding, creator protection, or client-review labeling is the priority. If the final file is too heavy after adding a logo or text overlay, continue with Video Compress. If you need to normalize the delivery format first, continue with Video Convert.
No-upload workflow: branded campaign videos, review copies, and internal product demos stay in the browser while the watermark is applied.
Yes. It's ideal for branded social posts, review drafts, influencer handoff copies, and private client approval links where you want your logo, company name, or DRAFT mark visible in every frame.
Add a watermark to video online free with FreeToolBox — embed a text or image watermark onto every frame of your video in your browser using FFmpeg.wasm. Video watermarking is essential for content creators who want to protect their videos from unauthorized use, assert copyright, or brand their content before distributing it on YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram. Choose watermark text or logo image, set position, size, and opacity, and download the watermarked video.
All processing happens locally in your browser using WebAssembly — your video is never uploaded to any server. The only watermark on the output is the one you add. Completely free, no account required.
Yes. Upload a PNG logo (ideally with a transparent background) and it will be composited onto each video frame at your chosen position and opacity. PNG transparency is preserved when overlaying on the video.
For a subtle brand mark: 20–40% opacity. For a clear copyright notice: 50–70%. Fully opaque watermarks (100%) block content and are typically only for preview/draft versions.
Yes. Adding a watermark requires processing every video frame, involving re-encoding the video stream. The audio stream is typically copied without re-encoding.
No. FFmpeg.wasm processes your video entirely in the browser. Your file never leaves your device.
The position of a watermark matters more than its opacity. Placing it across the center is the most tamper-resistant choice because cropping the edges simply removes the mark — but it also obscures the most footage. A better balance for most creators is corner placement at low opacity: it stays out of the way and still deters casual reuse. If your footage is sensitive, an alternative is a repeating diagonal pattern that makes cropping an entire row impractical. Test on a short clip first, not your master file, so you can see how the mark reads against both light and dark scenes.
A text watermark is quick, needs no asset, and is ideal for a creator name or copyright line. A logo or image watermark looks more professional for a brand but adds a layer of alpha compositing. Keep the mark high-contrast against the background — white text on a light scene disappears, and black text on a dark scene does the same. One practical trick is to add a subtle shadow or semi-transparent background box behind the text so it stays legible regardless of what is happening on screen.
Because this tool runs the watermark entirely in your browser, the clip never leaves your device. That is a meaningful advantage when the footage is a rough cut, an unreleased client project, or a private recording you are not ready to publish. An online watermark service that uploads your video first is an additional exposure you do not need. Apply the mark locally, review the output once at full resolution, and only then decide where to distribute the finished file.
